HOW DO I CATCH A SHINY?

WHAT’S THE CHANCE TO OBTAIN A SHINY?
In accordance with the dedicated researchers over in The Silph Road, the routine Shiny speed is 1 in 450. Rare spawns like Scyther or Pineco possess a Shiny speed of 1 in 65. The Shiny speed from Legendary raids is 1/19 if that Pokemon has a released Shiny form. Community Days possess an increased Shiny speed for the featured Pokemon, sitting in approximately 1/24.
ARE THERE ANY BENEFITS TO HAVING A SHINY POKEMON?
Not particularly. Shiny Pokemon do not have better stats or especially excellent IVs. Battle shrewd, they’re as good as any others Pokemon you’d catch.
Shinies are only for the collection and influence of other trainers. For instance, if you see your friend paired up with a brilliant swabla, you can honor them marginally more.
